Sarcos Robotics announced its Guardian XO Max, a “full-body, all-electric, battery-powered industrial exoskeleton robotic system,” lets human operators safely manipulate up to 200 lbs. So reports Construction Dive.
The suit requires only 400 watts to walk at “human speed,” 90% less than that normally needed for humanoid bots. The strength amplification is 20-1, meaning 100 lbs. feels like only 5 lbs. to the operator. The suit aims to address issues like occupational back injuries, which cost more than $100 billion per year.
