In order to better protect construction workers, Illinois troopers will begin dressing like the workers during undercover patrols. So reports WQAD 8.

The patrols are part of Work-Zone Safety Week, which began on Monday, May 6. According to the state police, the troopers will be “watching for speeders, distracted drivers and other violators in construction zones” in what is being called "Operation Hard Hat."
