Robotics is breaking into just about every industry to automate routine tasks or make work areas safer, but this technology hasn’t yet fully been established in the construction landscape. So reports Construction Labor Contractors.
But that’s beginning to change as companies look for ways for robots to assist in making the jobsite safer or even take over certain functions. SAM-100 (Semi-automated Masonry) is a robot designed to lay bricks and work in collaboration with a mason. Put a man in an exoskeleton suit and you’ve got an Ironman-esque crew member with enhanced strength for activities that involve lifting and squatting.
