Trump Admin Suspends Reg Changes on Risky Chemicals

Since 2007, more than 1,500 accidents at chemical plants have been reported in the U.S. So reports Reuters.

President Trump has suspended amendments to the Clean Air Act put forth by his predecessor that would have required plants to better coordinate emergency plans with local responders and would have made jobs easier for both plant owners and safety crews.

The amendments are now in a 2-year review cycle largely because trade associations argued that the new rules didn’t align with Trump’s promises to cut regulations.
