Boston Among Cities Highlighted in Building Efficiency Report

A report from the World Resources Institute, "Accelerating Building Efficiency — 8 Actions for Urban Leaders," highlights ways local governments can help foster the construction of high efficiency buildings. So reports Green Biz.

The report addresses eight areas for “urban leaders” to target, including building codes and standards, energy-efficiency targets, [measuring] and [tracking] performance, financial incentives, [leading] by example, engagement strategies, technical training, and [partnering] with utilities.

Another report from the C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group, called "Urban Efficiency II: Seven Innovative City Programmes for Existing Building Energy Efficiency," listed some cities successfully implementing energy efficiency policies. Boston, Mexico City, Tokyo, and London are among some standouts.
