The 5% to 10% trade tax came in response to $200 billion in tariffs recently levied against China. The U.S. is set to add another 25% tariff at the start of the new year. As a result of China's announcement, President Donald Trump said: “There will be great and fast economic retaliation against China if our farmers, ranchers and/or industrial workers are targeted!”
