Former Heavyweight Contender Dies in Construction Accident in Camden

Former Philadelphia boxer David Bey—who went punch-for-punch against Larry Holmes in 1985—was fatally injured in a construction site accident at Camden Towers in New Jersey. So reports the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Bey, age 60, had been a pile driver as far back as his boxing days. Bey was hit by a steel sheet pile and suffered fatal wounds. Camden County Prosecutor’s Office has been investigating the accident.
