When the Weather Outside is Frightful, Keep Your Workers Warm

Serious health problems can result for construction workers exposed to severe cold weather. So reports The Balance.

New crew members may not be as aware of the best way to protect themselves from frostbite, trench foot, and hypothermia. Be sure OSHA’s cold stress card is on hand to help crews prepare, prevent, and manage illness or injury related to frosty weather.

Also make sure to train crews in recognizing symptoms of cold weather stress, including uncontrollable shivers, changes in rate of speech, or confusion.
