The City of Des Moines was ordered to pay close to $1 million to Jenco Construction Inc. after they "blacklisted" the company for poor performance related to a $3.3 million bridge project. So reports the Des Moines Register.

Jenco was banned in 2015 from bidding on city projects for three years. The company said there were unanticipated low-grade obstacles impairing its work, leading to delays in the project. The city had blacklisted two other companies since 1995.
