The Home Depot Foundation is giving a financial boost to the construction industry in hopes of curtailing the trade workers most needed and invaluable to construction work. So reports Green Building News.
The Foundation will contribute $5 million per year over the next 10 years to support training of carpenters, framers, electricians and plumbers. The skilled labor gap is affected by retirement and the challenge of attracting qualified workers to the trades.
The funding from Home Depot aims to be part of the solution by supporting awareness of skilled trade professionals as well as training programs.
