U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel tossed a lawsuit brought by California and advocacy groups challenging plans to construct a prototype of the proposed U.S.-Mexico border wall. So reports an NBC 7 San Diego affiliate.

The lawsuit claimed the Trump administration overreached when it waived certain environmental laws normally required before construction could begin. A proposal by Customs and Border Protection calls $18 billion in spending over the next decade to construct barriers along almost half the 2,054-mile border, the story reads.
