With an emphasis on diversity and inclusion, The Obama Foundation has selected major minority-owned firms to submit proposals for the new Obama Presidential Center in Chicago.
The teams are from Clark Construction Group, Lakeside Alliance, Power Mortenson Partners, and W.E. O'Neil Construction Company. The finalists will present details regarding:
- Who they will employ
- Innovative hiring programs they will develop for young people
- Contracting specifications
The foundation has set parameters for diversity of subcontractors and suppliers, requiring no less than 35% to be from diverse, minority business enterprises.
