The industry’s first advertising pitchman, Maurice “Bud” Lezell, fondly known as “Mr. Belvedere” in his local Belvedere Construction commercials, died of natural causes on Sunday March 26, 2017 in Sarasota, Florida.
He became well known for his catchy taglines, commercial jingles, and easy-to-remember phone numbers that permeate the advertising business today. He lived his life with integrity, genuine concern for others, and self-discipline. Lezell served in the Coast Guard before building his service-centric construction business.
