While the construction industry has little problem creating jobs, it continues to have a big problem filling those jobs with highly skilled laborers or professionals. So reports the Note Vault.

The resulting construction labor shortage needs innovative solutions, many of which begin at the organizational level. Note Vault identified eight ways for companies to keep the labor shortage from impacting their operations, including:

  • The safety of the work environment
  • Thorough pre-hire assessments
  • Enhanced training and development opportunities for all levels of employees
  • Partnering with vocational educational and national organizations to collaborate on training future potential employees
  • Establishing internship programs
  • Hire from industries that are in slow-growth
  • Hiring vets
