For June 2016 reporting period, spending on private construction, residential construction and new homes dropped, co-occuring with a decline in employment in the industry.
According to the U.S. Department of Commerce Report, the seasonal dip in private construction was at $445.8 billion, below the most recent high of $468 billion from March 2016. New single-family construction showed a month-to-month dip of -0.4%, but an increase of 4.8% year-to-year.
