Construction Laborers on Top 10 List for Highest Injury & Illness Rate

The Bureau of Labor Statistics has released its 2014 Nonfatal Occupational Injuries and Illnesses Requiring Days Away From Work report showing construction laborers are among the top ten occupations with the highest rates of illness and injury resulting in lost work time. So reports Builder Online.

The highest rates of injury are among men with 1-5 years on the job. Interestingly, the majority of incidents across all construction workers and private industry employees occurred on a Monday. The most common time of day for injuries was in the first 2 to 4 hours of work, when many would typically expect injuries to occur later in a work shift when workers are often more fatigued.
