Hurricanes Hampering Alabama Projects

Hurricanes Florence and Michael have damaged "hundreds of thousands" of homes and have made an already tight labor market tighter. So reports WAFF48.

Areas in Florida and the Carolinas hit hardest by the storms are drawing construction crews toward high-paying projects, leaving other Tennessee Valley projects short-handed. The costs for projects in Alabama, as such, could rise as workers leave and materials are difficult to come by.
