Construction Worker Wages Rise As Labor Pool Shrinks

A historically tight labor market has helped push construction workers' wages ahead of the wages of the average private sector employee. So reports Archinect.

As such, some are calling for immigration and education reform to help ease the pressures facing employers continually forced to pay more to attract those in the dwindling labor pool. Stephen E. Sandherr, CEO of the Associated General Contractors of America, said the nation's education system has produced "too many over-qualified baristas and not enough qualified bricklayers and other craft construction professionals"
