The Construction Industry Alliance for Suicide Prevention held its first strategic planning session in Washington D.C., laying the groundwork for its governance, education and fundraising plans. So reports Contractor.

The alliance, recently classified as a 501(c)(3) charity, aims to provide suicide prevention resources and promote sound mental health in the construction industry.

North America's Building Trades Unions, an alliance of 14 unions representing close to 3 million workers, recently joined the effort. Additionally, FCL Builders donated $144,000 toward the cause.
