Seattle’s downtown construction totals have made gains in recent months, inching back toward its nation-leading pace. So reports The Seattle Times.

A record 74 projects were underway last year before falling to 57 and eventually rebounding to 65. According to the article, Seattle led the U.S. in completed office construction and accounted for 20% of projects finished in major American downtowns.

Subsequently, construction of apartments and other housing units to accommodate tech workers, who are filling the new office space, are also on the rise, but also lag recent peaks. The two largest projects, by estimated cost, are a $600 million phase of a new campus for Expedia and a $570 million development, including office space, for Amazon office and luxury apartments.
