Smoot Construction Company and Gilbane Building Company were chosen for a joint construction venture of the Entertainment and Sports Arena (ESA) in the Congress Heights neighborhood of Washington, DC.
In addition to construction management at-risk services, the partner companies will provide cost, schedule and constructability input during the design process, and build and deliver the new ESA for its fall 2018 opening. In addition, they will develop opportunities for local contractors and suppliers.
The announcement was made by Events DC, the official convention and sports event authority for the DC area.
